Bumble Dating App: Your Guns Are Not Welcome Here

Dating app Bumble is now among a growing number of companies irresolute their policies on guns in light of the Parkland, Florida, schoolhouse shooting last month that left 17 people dead.

In a Mon weblog post, Bumble appear that photos of guns are no longer welcome on any of its platforms. That includes the company's main dating service also as its BFF service for finding friends and Bizz for networking.

"As mass shootings continue to devastate communities across the country, it'due south time to land unequivocally that gun violence is not in line with our values, nor do these weapons belong on Bumble," the company wrote.

Bumble is in the process of updating its terms and conditions to state that photos that include guns are not allowed, with the exception of images of users in military or law enforcement uniform. To enforce this new dominion, Bumble has already started "moderating all new and previously uploaded photos for the presence of guns."

"Online behavior can both mirror and predict how people treat each other in the real globe," the company wrote. "Bumble has a responsibleness to our users and a larger goal to encourage accountability offline."

Besides banning photos of guns, Bumble announced it is making a $100,000 donation to March For Our Lives, an organization founded past Parkland survivors.

Since the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. fourteen, many people have turned to Facebook's Community Help feature to offer counseling services to victims.
